PALEO 2.0

Swedish scientists have published a research study which indicates that a diet rich in lean meat, vegetables, berries and nuts is effective in lowering the chance of a heart attack or stroke.

Bearing in mind that this was only a 3-week study (and other long-term research is required), scientists from the Institute found that research volunteers reduced their body fat %, their blood pressure and their chance of developing deadly blood clots.

The theory behind this lifestyle is that, before the advent of agriculture (10,000 years) our ancestors ate food that had to be hunted or gathered from trees and plants.

Some scientists argue the human genome has been unable to keep pace with our progress in agriculture and food preparation. The theory is that the body of the modern human is not genetically programmed to evolve on our modern diet. Our technology is modern, but our body has not fully followed this rhythm, which results in chronic diseases such as obesity and type-2 diabetes.

The Paleo/Caveman Lifestyle means: no cereals, bread, dairy products, butter, cheese or sugar, but lots of lean meat, fish, fruit, vegetables and nuts.

In summary: if it flies, swims or runs, if it’s green and can be hand-picked, you can eat as much as you want J
